Queen Anne House Lift & Rebuild
This home in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood was very dated and in need to significant repair. The homeowner’s vision was to add a second story and fully remodel the main floor. The project developed and evolved into a house lift to replace the foundation and create full height lower floor, a full redesign of the main floor, and a new second story. The narrow lot proved to be a challenge for the layout of the spaces. The finished design flows efficiently and graciously between the spaces and vertically between the floors despite the narrowness of the lot and space constraints. The main floor is designed with an entry, living, dining, bathroom, and kitchen area. An open stair leads up to the upper floor designed with a master suite and office/bedroom space. The stair also leads down to the lower floor designed with a generous recreation room, laundry, storage, bathroom and two bedrooms.
